SELAH is an east side LA based neighborhood-level movement responding to homelessness in a proactive, compassionate, and effective way.
During our 2021 Drive we were able to give over 600 purchased items from our Amazon Wish List directly to SELAH Neighborhood Homeless Coalition, totaling over $10,000 worth of essential items that went directly into the hands of our unhoused neighbors! This year, we’ve made a few changes. To reduce our carbon footprint, we’re officially moving away from Amazon and working with local small businesses! While the Wishlist served an incredible purpose, we have found a more efficient way to maximize your giving. As we continue to scale up our efforts, fundraising to buy directly from wholesalers will help us make the biggest impact. How?
Buy MORE essential items by purchasing wholesale. Once the fundraiser is over, we will take our final amount and purchase everything directly from our wholesale partners.
Have your donation go DIRECTLY to SELAH Neighborhood Homeless Coalition. All donations are tax deductible! No more giving money to mega-corporations!
REDUCE our carbon footprint! After the fundraiser is finished we will do one pick up to our wholesale partners for the items purchased (that means saving on hundreds of individual packaged items & hundreds of driver deliveries)
Hosting weekly drop-in programs that offer hot meals, showers, clothing, hygiene essentials, and linkage to existing services. SELAH's goal is to ensure our unhoused neighbors have access to as much community support and political recognition as possible.
